Charleston Area Claims Association History
The Charleston Area Claims Association was founded in 1957. The organization was brought about primarily through the efforts of Sam Enis, an Independent Adjuster. The first President of the Association was Lester E. stringer of the United States fidelity and Guaranty Company.
The primary aim of the association is the further the education of the membership, establish goodwill, friendship, cooperation and understanding. We will abode to an established code of ethics.
Hurricane Gracie Slowed the association down in the fall of 1959. In 1961 the association suspended the meetings but was reawakened in 1964 with the dedication of Billy Mayfield of TM Mayfield and Company.
In 1989, Hurricane Hugo devastation impacted us all throughout the state. With the help of so many, time and patience, we have recovered.
This association through the years, has steadily grown stronger and even more committed to its goals. We will continue to renew our commitment for self-improvement, education, professionalism, and dedication, as well as serve our community with truth and honesty.
